Kids learn online smarts through new kid game
Hedy Fry calls CyberSense and Nonsense a "creative approach" to combating online hate
Ottawa, Ontario, April 6, 2000 - The Media Awareness Network (MNet) launched CyberSense and Nonsense today, a new interactive computer kid game to help "cyberproof" kids.
CyberSense and Nonsense is designed to help children between the ages of nine and eleven learn how to:
- detect bias and recognize propaganda on Web sites
- question the truth and accuracy of online information, and
- protect themselves in places like Internet chat room... Adventure Theme Park [ Kids ] - Features original games, puzzles, music, and interactive fun. Most activities require limited reading.
Amazeworld [ Teens ] - Collection of interactive web mazes, stories where your choices effect the outcome.
Angell's Heaven [ Kids/Teens ] - Offers some popular arcade, action and word games, as well as humor and puzzles.
Animation Grove [ Kids/Teens ] - Features stories, games, downloads, word searches, and puzzles. Includes section for very young children.
Apple Corps [ Kids ] - Design different faces on an apple and other fruits and v... Concentration - An on-line version of the classic. Click on a card, then click on another and try to make a match. [ JavaScript ]
Who Am I? - At night you can hear the animals but you can't see them. Click on a number between 1 and 20. Listen to the animal sound and pick the animal that made the sound from a drop down menu. Guess all 20 animal sounds to win. Requires a sound enabled PC [ JavaScript ]
