Eating Tips For Children Young Toddlers

Eating Tips For Children Young Toddlers After 12 months of age, there are few foods a child cannot have. Children should be offered a variety of different foods, flavours and textures for balanced nutrition and to help them enjoy new tastes. Children will learn to eat what the family eats if they are given the same food and encouraged to try it. Low fat or restricted diets are not recommended for toddlers as they may result in poor growth. Common parental concerns Picky eating is common in toddlers. The world has become an exciting place and food may be less impo...

The first five years of a childs life

The first five years of a child’s life are a time of tremendous physical, emotional, social and cognitive growth. Children enter the world with many needs in order to grow: love, nutrition, health, social and emotional security and stimulation in the important skills that prepare them for school success. Children also enter the world with a great capacity to learn. Research shows clearly that children are more likely to succeed in learning when their families actively support them. Eating tips for children babies

Eating tips for children - babies Babies grow quickly in the first year of life, so they need plenty of energy (kilojoules) and nutrients. Children's growth isn't always steady and even but can be in spurts, which means that appetite and hunger can be unpredictable. The amounts of foods eaten by your baby and their interest in food may be a little different from day to day. This is normal and shouldn't c...

Bedwetting

Bedwetting It takes time for a child to grasp the connection between the urge to urinate and urinating itself. Once the child understands that urinating is under their control, toilet training can advance in leaps and bounds. However, bedwetting remains a problem for many children. Instead of waking up to go to the toilet, a bedwetting child sleeps on while the muscles of their bladder relax. It seems that the brain doesn't receive the urge to urinate from the bladder. One in five preschoolers and around ten per cent of all children under the age of ten years still wet the bed. There may be as many as 100,000 bedwetting Australians at any given time, including a s...

Talking With Children

Why is it important to talk with your kids about what they see on the news? As adults, we depend on "The News" as our primary source for information about the world we live in. Whether it's the local newspaper, nightly TV newscasts, cable news networks, news radio, or Web sites, graphic footage and accounts of the latest happenings in the world are being delivered right into our homes 24 hours a day. This constant barrage can be overwhelming for adults, but it can be especially confusing and frightening for young children. Many adults do not realize how many kids actually watch TV news or read the newspaper. In addition, consider the opportunities kids hav...
